Tim Hortons in WSM officially opened yesterday (17th February) morning and the George clan were very excited to be invited to a preview event earlier this week!

We discovered ‘Timmy’s’ (as it’s known by the George kids) when over in Northern Ireland last year, it’s a Canadian coffee and fast food joint and we’d been waiting for one to open locally (until now you were looking at a trip to Cardiff or Gloucester)

We’d only tried their incredible value breakfast deal (£3 for a meal inc hash brown and drink) at the drive thru, so couldn’t wait to try the other meals and treats plus have a look inside!

We weren’t disappointed! The WSM restaurant is an old Pizza Hut site, so conveniently located and spacious and has been given a modern (on brand) refit.

We tried so much, it’s hard to know where to start 🤪 So I’ll just give you the highlights of our visit:

🍗 Tims Chicken – both my burger and the kids tenders were absolutely delicious. Seasoned and moist. One of the best ‘fast food chain’ chicken burgers I’ve had, and I had one from a rival on Sat, so I know what I’m talking about…

🍩 The doughnuts are handmade and baked each hour on site, can’t handle a whole one? Check out the Timbits!!

Youngest G figured out how to open the box and stick them in whole without us seeing…

🍟 Waffle fries!! Obsessed with these. And ALL the dips.

Curry, BBQ, but especially the garlic aioli, SO good!

🥤 Incredible selection of drinks!

Coffees, iced coffees, epic shakes, the frozen lemonade was a big hit!

😁 Staff – everyone we met was lovely.

Friendly without being overbearing and great with putting the kids at ease too.

🥞 ‘Best American (Canadian?!) pancakes I’ve had’ said eldest munchkin.

I don’t normally like American pancakes but the Oreo and hazelnut converted even me! The picture doesn’t do them justice.

Verdict

So if you weren’t sure on our verdict, Team George were impressed. I still need to go relive our NI trip and go back for brekky though (These guys still have wraps and bagels on the menu, unlike some!! 🙄)
