Tuesday is B and I’s ‘Mother Daughter’ day (until Sept 🥹) and we recently took a trip to Bath to find a new family-friendly lunch spot.

It’s not always easy dining with kids (places with good kids menus tend to fail adults, and vice versa!), but this place hit the ‘child-friendly restaurant in Bath’ brief and had alfresco dining…

ad 📍 Brasserie Beau, South Parade, Bath

Not a fan of driving or parking in Bath so the first plus for me was the fact it’s only a 4 minute walk from the train station 💪 (We get the direct GWR from Yatton).

Also then very handy for heading to SouthGate Bath afterwards for shopping! The restaurant is in keeping with its surroundings and part of the beautiful Hotel Indigo Bath, an 18th century Georgian boutique hotel, full of history and grandeur.

Onto that kids menu 👧🏻 Bea had:

It’s 2 courses for £7.95 or 3 for £9.95 and the portions were incredibly generous – that crispy chicken was a whole chicken breast! It’s a shame the dip wasn’t hummus and that maybe the presentation on the beans being a bit sloppy – they were over flowing – but otherwise they were the only real negatives we could give.

We were lucky enough to have my gorgeous friend Alex join us for lunch, and she and I shared small plates to start:

Then I had the 🍔 Beau Aged Beef Burger, with dry cured bacon, local cheddar, relish mayo, caramelised onion, lettuce, mayonnaise and fries washed down with a delicious mocktail (they happily swapped soda for lemonade) 🍸

The small plates were my highlight, the burger was nice (maybe a little overdone for my tastebuds 🤷🏼‍♀️) but not as memorable as that scotch egg 🤤

The outdoor dining space was lovely, plenty of shade thanks to the umbrellas and a view of St John’s and a lovely spot for a girlie catch up, lunch date or family occasion. Want to dine inside? Lots of gorgeous seating there too.

Service was helpful and friendly, and the activity box given to Bea was a very thoughtful touch. Bea and I would both happily return, so if you’re looking for somewhere for Bath restaurants with kids menu this is definitely one to consider! 💕
