Explores: Little Town Adventures, Weston-super-Mare Review

Bea was lucky enough to be one of the first children to enjoy the worlds first ‘immersive theatrical play experience’ this afternoon (12th May). It officially opens on May 17th on the seafront in Weston!

We went along to their grand opening, featuring none other than Joe Swash and Weston-super-Mares actual mayor, Ciarán Cronnelly.

There has been a lot of hype so it was great to see what the team behind Ocean & Space Adventurers have created first hand 👀

First off it’s not a soft play, it’s much more of a show/imagination play mash up 🎈

Children are introduced to the Deputy Mayor and asked to assist looking after the ‘little town’ whilst the Mayor is away.

They will help with a specific task (today it was putting a fire out) and then afterwards they are given the opportunity to free play, before helping to tidy up and a final farewell 👋

There are 30 different scripts so even if you visit multiple times hopefully your little ones will experience different storylines! If they love music there are songs (with signs 🤟) to get involved with too 🎵

The incredible ‘set’ features multilevel buildings, is deceptively large and has costumes and props galore. Whatever your child is into, I’d wager they can get a fix of (B particularly loved becoming a vet, dueling knight on a film set and a pizza chef! 👩‍🍳)

It’s not cheap (£15 per child, £5 per adult for 90 minutes) so personally it’s not something I think we would do frequently. However it was a great concept, the price was comparable (possibly even cheaper) than going to a show and Bea was utterly enthralled, so we’d happily return as a treat, birthdays etc…

Also, we met the really lovely Joe Swash, who kindly granted my request for pics with Bea and a video for my step son’s mum. How lovely was that?! 🥰👏🏻

👣 We parked at the Sovereign Centre, but there’s a bus stop and 8 min walk away and the train station is 13 mins walk.

🥪 There’s a cafe on site and prices are reasonable, £5.95 for the adults panini meal deal, £4.95 for kids. (I didn’t try as they had outside catering for the opening).

Save this post for when you want to do something a bit different with the kids (whatever the weather, they had fabulous aircon! 😅). Don’t forget to subscribe to my blog for more North Somerset day out and foodie ideas!
