I don’t know if you’ve heard, but there’s a new roast on the block, and it’s a good one! 🍽️

Last Sunday we visited the Grounded Cafe on Sandy Park to try out their new roast menu. It only launched three weeks prior, with a view to being rolled out across their other locations soon, but it’s already super busy!

We saw quite a few folk being turned away – so worth making a booking (a little birdy told me they still have some space for Mother’s Day 💕). We had:

❤️ Dry Aged Beef Topside w/ horseradish

❤️ Slow Roasted Pork Loin w/ apple sauce

both served with roast potatoes, roast carrots, braised red cabbage, seasonal veg, Yorkshire pudding gravy

👧🏻 Chicken Nuggets, Chips & Peas

🌈 Rainbow Cake

🥕 Carrot Cake

Mr E.E is particular about roasts (why we don’t eat them out often 😆) but his pork had a double thumbs up and he demolished virtually the whole cauliflower cheese 😅 High praise! My beef was a little chewy in places, but the portion size was great as was veg selection. The gravy fiend in me was also pleased about the size of the extra jug that arrived (without even asking! 💪)

Bea was chuffed the full kids menu was available so she didn’t have to have a roast 😂 I was pleased it came with peas – quite a few places don’t seem to give kids any veg these days?? She loved the wordsearch and mini clip board too.

They don’t have puddings per se, but there’s a full selection of cakes behind the counter (inc GF and vegan options!). The rainbow cake was a big hit (“is it for unicorns?”) and the carrot cake was so moist I almost forgot about the distress of lent and not being allowed chocolate 😂

So yeah, we had a lovely lunch! Staff are incredibly friendly, well behaved dogs are welcome, and the vibe is warm and relaxed. We found on street parking within a two minute walk. Would happily return!

Things to do nearby: @wakethetiger (4 min drive) or randomly, if you’re kids are like ours, @gooutdoors? (Also 4 mins). @arnosvalecemetery is only 3 mins away by car!
