The best roast in Clevedon?! 🍽️ So has been proclaimed by a few of my fellow Clevedon food lovers, but shamefully it’s taken me several months to try for myself 🙈
So I took my parents and Bea at the start of half term! Pictured you’ll see:

🥩 Slow braised beef chuck, Yorkshire pudding filled with mustard brisket, parsnip crisps, stock gravy.

🐔 Chicken ballotine, Yorkshire pudding filled with slow roast pulled pork, fried stuffing, stock gravy

🧀 Truffle cauliflower cheese

🐷 Pigs in blankets

🍏 Apple crumble, Vanilla custard, caramel sauce

🥂 Glass of Prosecco
First thoughts – everything was really bloody lovely. My dad (who kindly treated us, this isn’t an ad, thanks Dad 😘) who isn’t particularly fussed on a roast dinner said it was all scrumptious and asked Ed who was serving us to pass on his compliments to the chef. My mum on the other hand does like a roast, but would freely admit she can be fussy (hi Mum 😆). I was a bit worried what she’d make of the pulled pork in her Yorkshire pudding, as it’s not usually her thing, but she gobbled the whole lot and raved about it too!
Me (I mean we’ve covered my parents 🤷🏼♀️), I like to think I’m a bit of a roast potato connoisseur, as Mr E.E makes some of the best around and I frequently proclaim they’re why I married him. I wouldn’t say these were better than his, but they were definitely some of the best we’ve had eating out! It’s not often I find a spud that could give his roasties a run for their money, but these were really up there. Perfectly crispy on the outside and fluffy inside! 😋 The beef was lovely and the brisket wasn’t too mustardy (I’d been apprehensive).

Everything was served piping hot, veg still had bite (hate soggy/overcooked veg!), portions were generous and I love a deal, so the fact that if you get both the cauliflower cheese and the pigs in blankets you save a quid, satisfies the bargain hunter in me. As does the fact the apple pie is under a fiver – it’s not often you get dessert for £4.95 these days AND it comes with caramel sauce!
It was quiet when we first arrived (12pm) but by the time we were leaving, it was busy with a great atmosphere. Many of the team are familiar faces from Feast next door, so it’s without doubt the service is great too. A brilliant addition to Clevedon’s roast scene!

I’m also eagerly anticipating the launch of their steak menu (as Clevedon’s steak scene is somewhat lacking!). Hopefully I won’t take so long getting round to trying it when it does go live!
Like this post for Clevedon Roast inspo (would be a great afternoon out – you could combine with a trip to Clevedon Sunday Market or Clevedon Pier) and don’t forget to subscribe to receive notification of when my next posts goes live!
Thanks for reading,
