Eats & Explores: Burgers & Flower Fields in Worcestershire

This year (2023) marked my fourth year visiting The Real Flower Petal Confetti Company flower fields, it’s only open for 10 days each year and this year that’s from 30th June til 9th July. Having discovered it while pregnant in 2019, I have only missed a return trip in 2020, thanks to (you guessed it) Covid.

If you would like to plan a visit, here are some tips:

🚘 It’s an hour (ish) from Clevedon/Bristol and there is free parking.

🎫 Tickets do sell out particularly on weekends. This year It’s £7.50 per adult (up a pound from last year!) with under 5s are free. Purchase here.

⏰ Tickets are sold with an arrival time slot, but if you’re late (we were) they’re usually nice about it as long as it’s before last entry. They also kindly ask you to limit your time to two hours for your trip, but this is self monitored.

🌸 You can mooch in the fields but don’t forget to check out the elevated view points, tractors and buses for little ones to climb on, stalls selling fresh flowers and edibles or you could take a picnic.

🧢 There’s not a huge amount of shade so I’d take plenty of water and hats for little ones. (And sun lotion for all!)

♿️ We’ve taken a pram way previously but it’s not the easiest. Ground is bumpy and uneven so not great for those with accessibility issues!

If you don’t fancy taking a picnic, I recently discovered somewhere to eat a short drive (10 minutes) away – Stirr Ups Bar.

This has to be The most pulled pork I’ve ever had as a burger topping. Fact! 🍔

It’s the 🐮🐷 Piggy in the Middle – Served with toffee apple sauce, Stir Ups street slaw and a duo of American and Monterey Jack cheese, soaked in Tubby Toms Maple BBQ sauce.

We also had:

🐔 Cluck Me – Breaded buttermilk chicken served with garlic mayo, crispy bacon and a duo of American and Monterey Jack cheese.

👧🏻 Nugz – Breaded buttermilk chicken bites served with plain chips

🍷 Cote de Provence – by the glass (woohoo! Fellow fans will know it’s often only available by the bottle)

The adult burgers both came with plain fries and homemade coleslaw, priced at £12 (piggy) and £9.50 (cluck) I think this makes them very reasonable as it’s quite often the norm is for those to be extras these days. Which all adds up!

Both burgers were tasty (we did 50/50 😋) and B’s chicken was an excellent sized portion for £4.50. The venue itself was light and bright, nice decor, plenty of room for prams/high chairs and very friendly relaxed service. They put us completely at ease when we were worried about the mess the littlest one (15 months) was making. I’d happily return next time we’re in the area! (Child free might be fun too – they have live music on a Fri/Sat and cocktail offers too 🍹)

Parking is available two mins away at Bewdley Street (£2 for two hours) or there’s street parking nearby too. If you’re planning to combine with a confetti field visit like we did, don’t forget you only have until the 9th (Sunday).

Safe to say we’ll be making a return journey next year to do it all again! If you have any questions or need any help planning your visit please comment and I’ll do my best.

Thanks for reading,

Lizzie (and Bea) xx
